The History of Direct Hit Productions

DHP - The Beginning

Mark started out in the DJ business working for another local company and was dismayed by the lack of professionalism displayed by some DJ's that he would work with. He decided that he could do better for the customer and enventually ventured out on his own, creating Direct Hit Productions in 1995. The idea was to offer greater value to the customer without compromising quality and maintaining the highest level of professionalism. The beginning was tough for Mark and Direct Hit. His equipment was not up to the demands of the job, clients were scarce, and marketing the business seemed an impossible task.

The first couple years were slow but soon Mark was able to purchase better equipment by constant reinvestment in the business. DHP was still only a word-of-mouth business but business was growing due to Mark's evolving skills as a DJ and MC. People started to share their experiences as DHP clients. Friends of friends were now reaching out to Mark for their DJ needs. Today DHP only uses the best equipment available to mobile performers. DHP has a growing social footprint and no longer relies strictly on word-of-mouth, however that is still our core business growth.

DHP - The Evolution

Not long after Mark and Jeff met, they decided to partner up, and that's when things really started to take off. Jeff expanded the capability of the business through his extensive knowledge of music, inherent sense of timing, and drive to succeed. The client list, both new and repeated customers, kept growing. Jeff and Mark were able to invest even more into the business to not only keep their sound reinforcement equipment modern and redundant, they were also able to develop lighting systems, large or subtle, that would rival some clubs for not only quality, but excitement. Jeff's skill set allowed Direct Hit the ability to showcase two fully capable DJ/MC's at every wedding where timing, coordination, and flexibility are critical to a successful event.

DHP - The Future

Mark and Jeff recently brought a third member to the team. Billy Marco is a long time friend of both and brings many years of experience to the team, having once owned his own DJ business and has also worked along side Mark in the bars. Billy expands the DHP brand with his MC skills, knowledge of music, and ability to engage an audience. The future will also bring a new, highly mobile and modern look to the company as they intend to go greener with fully intelligent LED lighting technology. Also new for 2015, Direct Hit is now able to offer an all-inclusive photo booth option to any wedding package, or as a stand-alone service for any event. The bottom line: Direct Hit Productions never rests on its laurels and is always looking to add more value and service to you, our customer.
